- INTRODUCTION
Special surgical hospital “PARKS” was found in year of 1993, and was the first private stationary medical facility of this kind in Novi Sad. Founders of this hospital are: general surgeons dr sci. med. Boris Zagoricnik, dr med. Goran Senicar, dr med. Evgenije Segedi, and anesthesiologist dr med. Slobodan Jovanovic. All graduated and gained their academic titles at the Medical School of the University in Novi Sad.
During its first 10 years , the hospital was situated in an adapted family house at Pap Pavla street. In this period more than 3000 operations were performed in general anesthesia, most of these were abdominal surgical operations, including most complicated procedures in this surgical area. In the year of 1995, hospital acquires laparoscopic surgical equipment. After medical education in laparoscopy which was conducted in Italy and Switzerland, this hospital was the first medical in stitution in Novi Sad and Vojvodina to conduct laparoscopic surgical procedures. In the next few years, dr Zagoricnik and dr Senicar gained the titles “instructor of laparoscopy” from JUEH (Yugoslav Assotiation of Endoscopic Surgeons), and became regular members of EAES (European Association of Endoscopic Surgeons). A year ago prof. dr Radovan Cvijanovic joins this tandem, and the hospital acquires an ULTRASOUND KNIFE. which allows performing most complicated laparoscopic procedures. Beside usual laparoscopic operations of gallbladder, appendix and inguinal hernias, more complicated laparoscopic procedures such as operations of diaphragmal (hiatal) hernias, small and large bowel operations, small and large bowel tumor resections, adrenal gland operations etc. have become a part of everyday routine.
By using own financial means and with help of EU loan for small and medium companies founders of this hospital started building a new hospital facility at Suboticka street no. 41 in the year of 2002 . This new special purpose built hospital facility was opened on March 3’th 2003.
- ABOUT US
The hospital consists of three joined organizational units:
A. diagnostic unit which has got: admissions part, out-patient department and Radiology department with classic X-Ray diagnostic and ultrasound diagnostic.
- hospital ward consists of rooms which have got sufficient space to accommodate 10 patients, support rooms for preoperative preparations and postoperative care. Part of this ward is also an INTENSIVE CARE unit equipped with a respirator and up to date equipment for constant vital functions monitoring of most complicated illnesses.
- operating room unit consists of two operating rooms equipped for classic and laparoscopic surgical procedures, and a separate compartment for preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and clothes.
The hospital has 25 employees: 3 general surgeons, an urologist, an anesthesiologist, 2 operating room nurses, 1 anesthetist , 9 nurses, 1 clerk , 1 maintenance employee ,3 janitors. Besides, there are consultants, specialists in different medical fields and associates from various medical areas. Hospital is fully, legally and practically closely connected with other private and state health centers in this city, especially with Clinical Centre of Vojvodina - Novi Sad, Institutes in Sremska Kamenica.

SURGICAL TREATMENT CONSISTS OF:
● complete preoperative preparation ( laboratory diagnostics, EKG, consulting intern cardiologist, drug preparation etc.)
● hematological preparation
● operations are being conducted in local, regional or general anesthesia
● anesthesia is done by a selected anesthetic team using the latest anesthetic equipment for intraoperative monitoring
● operative procedures are performed by a surgical team headed by surgeon – subspecialised in that surgical area
● early postoperative care is done by nurses with years of working experience supervised by anesthesiologist-intensive care specialist and surgeon
● late postoperative care is performed in full comfort and discretion with round the clock supervision
● end of treatment in house care with the possibility of contacting the surgeon at any time
